5 things to consider while having a PC
It is one of the best things about owning a PC that you can easily upgrade parts when they become obsolete. Almost every component in your PC is modular and upgradeable, so choosing what to upgrade first might be tricky. Of course, the solution will fluctuate from system to system, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. However, you should have a lot better notion of where to begin after reading this blog. So, let's take a look at our options and the potential advantages and disadvantages of each.
Storage
The installation of storage isn't the most exciting thing in the world; it's definitely not as exciting as a graphics card, and it usually comes with fewer flashing RGB lights than an upgrade to memory.
The most apparent increase in performance you can make is by upgrading your traditional hard drive to an SSD if you are still using a traditional one. It will make Windows boot up almost instantly, and you will notice how responsive and snappy your computer becomes. Furthermore, if you only use a smaller SSD for Windows and your existing hard drive for larger files, it's a very cost-effective improvement.
NVMe SSDs have a slew of advantages, notably in terms of productivity and content production, but we doubt you'd notice much of a distinction in gameplay. However, the price difference between SATA and NVMe is narrowing every day, and the installation process is significantly simpler, with no wires to contend with. So, if you need more storage anyway, the price difference is probably worth it
Graphics Card
This one should go without saying; it's already at the top of every PC gamer's Christmas, birthday, and other wish lists. That's because the graphics card you choose is the single most important factor in gaming performance. Larger frame rates, higher resolutions, and more demanding graphical settings are all possible with a better GPU.
The disadvantages of upgrading your graphics card are also clear. Apart from the scarcity of supply, it's a pricey upgrade. If you're upgrading to a higher performance class, you may need to change your power supply as well, which increases the price.
CPU
While the GPU is the most critical component for videogames, the CPU aren't far behind. To offer the best gaming experience, these two components must operate together.
Bottlenecks will occur when a high-end graphics card is combined with an ancient, low-spec CPU. This means that the graphics card can't perform to its maximum potential since the CPU can't keep up with the GPU.
So, if you're considering a major graphics upgrade, you should think about whether the CPU will need to be updated as well.
A CPU upgrade may appear to be a straightforward process in theory, but it is sometimes far more difficult in practise. A new CPU almost often necessitates a new motherboard to perform properly.
Cooling
If your computer is overheating or becoming much louder than you'd like, a cooling improvement can be just what you need.
However, if your system is currently running at a reasonable temperature, a cooler upgrade alone is unlikely to improve performance. The exception is that a more powerful cooler allows you more room to experiment with overclocking if you want to.
A decent cooler can also improve the overall appearance of your PC. There are several alternatives with beautiful lighting and even some with built-in displays, letting you to display system information, memes, or whatever else you want right in the centre of your setup.
Power Supply
A power supply is only upgraded when a more power-hungry component, such as a new graphics card, is added, or when the old one fails.
It's critical to obtain a good one because your entire system is dependent on it, but it's not the most thrilling update.
There are a few exceptions, such as the RGB fan on the Corsair PSU illustrated below, which adds a splash of colour to an otherwise uninteresting component.
Last but not least, you can always change the appearance of your computer. Having a system that looks as well as it performs will not affect performance, despite what some ambitious marketing campaigns may claim, but there is something to be said for having a system that looks as good as it performs.
