Flagship Cameras Will Be Included in the Google Pixel Fold

Several sources claim that the world's largest search engine Google is developing a foldable smartphone of its own, which is expected to be unveiled before the end of this year.

A German magazine recently discovered two patents that Google had submitted to the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization). Two distinct hinge systems are depicted in the patents as designs.

One of the patents describes a more conventional hinge design that has previously been implemented in a number of products, including the Huawei Mate Xs. It has an outward folding design with a vertically positioned cylindrical hinge in the middle. The huge outside folding curvature of the display and the heavy hinge visible in the patented photos indicate that this is how it was most likely designed.

On the other hand, the second patent is for a Royole Flexpai-style hinge. The photos display substantial, ridge-like features that hold the frame in place. This is referred to in the patent as the "plurality of hinge assembly," which suggests a multi-segment hinge. A separate assembly with hinges to connect the display and frame is also depicted in one of the photos.

For quite some time, there have been rumors about Google's impending foldable phone. The Pixel Fold is still far from being released despite allegedly being canceled or delayed numerous times. According to some accounts, it has now been postponed until next year.

Despite the delays, renowned tipper Kuba Wojciechowski was able to get out some Pixel Fold camera information. His information indicates that the folding phone will have a flagship camera arrangement and go by the codename "Felix." A 64 MP Sony IMX787 main sensor, a 12 MP IMX386 ultrawide lens, and a 10.8 MP Samsung S5K3J1 telephoto camera should be part of this.

This smartphone, according to the tip, was originally speculated to be the Pixel 7a, and it will have the Tensor G2 chip, which is the second iteration of the Tensor processor. Google has verified the chip's name as it gets ready to introduce its next flagship series, the Pixel 7. The teaser advertising for these phones has already begun, confirming the launch date of October 6.

Regarding the Pixel Fold, there is currently no comprehensive information available. Some rumors refer to the gadget as the Pixel Notepad, and we might learn more about it at the Pixel 7 presentation.

Rumors suggest that Google's folding phone would resemble the Oppo Find N in form factor, as opposed to Samsung's Z Fold phones, which have a rectangular shape. Its exterior screen could be roughly 7 inches, and its inner screen is anticipated to be 5.8 inches.

Other features are unknown, but it will almost certainly come with premium hardware to rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
