The First Two Months of FY23 Saw a 64% Drop in Pakistan's Mobile Imports
In the first two months (July–August) of the current fiscal year 2022–23 (FY23), Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $101.864 million, representing a decrease of 64.38 percent from the $285.947 million imported during the same time of the previous year.

Mobile phone imports registered 62.16 percent negative growth on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in August 2022 when compared to $166.710 million during the same month of last year.
The total amount of telecom products imported into the nation during the first two months of FY23 totaled $169.438 million, a decrease of 53.84 percent when compared to the $367.051 million imported during the same time of the previous fiscal year.
However, when compared to August 2021–22, the total amount of telecom imports showed a negative YoY growth of 51.31 percent, coming in at $101.537 million as opposed to $208.558 million. Overall telecom imports increased by 49.54 percent month over month (MoM) in August compared to $67.901 million in July.
When compared to $81.104 million during the same period of the prior fiscal year, other apparatus imports decreased by 16.68 percent to $67.574 million in July–August 2022.
Other apparatus stayed at $38.477 million in August 2022 on a year-over-year basis and experienced negative growth of 8.06 percent compared to $41.848 million in August 2021 and MoM growth of 32.24 percent compared to $29.0097 million in July 2022.
