AMD releases its Ryzen 7020 mobile processors for "The Everyday Laptop."
The Ryzen 3 7320U, Athlon Gold 7220U, and Ryzen 5 7520U are the first three Mendocino chips to go on sale. All three of them have Radeon 610M graphics and an 8–15W TDP. The two Ryzen chips have a 6MB cache and four cores/eight threads, whereas the Athlon has a 5MB cache and two cores/four threads. Ryzen 7020 mobile processors. The processors are created using a 6nm technology and AMD's "Zen 2" architecture. These chips would only be wise purchases in really cheap laptops because Zen 2 is not a new architecture (Zen 4 is AMD's most recent architecture; Zen 2 was launched in 2019). Acer's Aspire 3 is one of the versions these chips will power; current ones can be had for less than $400.
The new CPUs, according to AMD, will have a battery life of up to 12 hours and outperform Intel's Core i3 in terms of productivity, multitasking, and application launch speed.
Although the Radeon 610M graphics will probably result in a better gaming experience than we've previously observed from cheap laptops, we wouldn't normally advise buying a laptop in this category for gaming. AMD has revealed the naming convention for its 2023 semiconductors, several of which have been updated from prior generations, including Ryzen 7020 mobile processors. The most important change is that each chip's third digit now makes it obvious which Zen architecture version it employs.
The intention was to guard against customers accusing the corporation of acting dishonestly by marketing new chips with outdated architecture (something AMD has done in the past; earlier incarnations of Ryzen and Athlon CPUs featured chips that were eerily identical to processors that were many years old). With regard to that specific modification, it was feasible (perhaps even likely) that the future 7000 series might include some older components. At least now, customers who are dissatisfied with the functioning of these chips can't claim that they weren't told.
