The largest messaging app in the world, WhatsApp, has more than two billion users. The programme, which is owned by Meta, allows users to freely communicate, call, and video chat with anyone on any device. Despite the fact that Google Messages comes pre-installed on the majority of Android phones, it is in many respects more potent than that software.

However, the sheer number of functions offered by WhatsApp can be overwhelming for novice users, and even seasoned users often overlook helpful features. Whether you're just getting started or have been using the messaging app for a while, here are 10 tips and tricks to get the most out of it.

1. Up to 32 of your closest pals can be video called.

With its December 2022 update, WhatsApp expanded its group chat capabilities, enabling you to video chat with up to 32 of your closest friends or family members. You should set up a Call Link if you want to communicate with 32 people at once, but you can also initiate a video call from one of your existing WhatsApp groups:

• You can just tap the Video Call symbol (a television camera) in the top-right corner if your group is smaller than 32 people.

• If your group includes more than 32 people, pick the individuals you wish to invite by pressing the Group Call icon (a phone with a plus symbol), and then press the Video call icon.

• As long as the video conference is active, any invited party is welcome to join at any moment, and you can invite more guests by swiping up from the call screen's bottom.

2. Make a poll for the group

3. Tell a WhatsApp contact where you are right now.

Because WhatsApp has Google Maps built in, you can share your real-time location without ever leaving the messaging service. This method can also be used to share a location. Share your location in Google Maps if the WhatsApp integration isn't as robust as you'd like.

• In the message box, press the paperclip button.

• Select Location.

• Choose a place by tapping it.

• Determine the duration of your live location sharing. 15 seconds, an hour, or eight hours are the choices.

• Activate the Send button.

4. Mass remove pictures and videos from a chat.

Sharing pictures and videos can quickly exhaust your WhatsApp storage. Back up your media to Google Photos, then use these instructions to delete them all at once from WhatsApp to get rid of them.

• In the top-right corner of your screen, tap the three dots.

• Select Settings.

• Data storage on tap

• Decide on Manage storage.

• Select one of your contacts from the list under "Chats." The order of contacts is based on storage usage.

• Choose to select all or specific images and videos.

• In the top-right corner of your screen, click Delete.

5. Find out how much data you use.

You must be careful with your data usage if you don't have an unlimited data plan. WhatsApp provides a detailed breakdown of your data usage, whereas your smartphone can reveal your usage across all apps.

6. Text that is bold, italicised, strikethrough, or single-spaced

When using WhatsApp, there are two ways to bold, italicise, strikethrough, or monospace text.

Method 2: Add an HTML-style symbol on each side of a message. This should be formatted as follows:

• Include an asterisk (*) in bold

• Include an underscore (_) in italics.

• Markthrough: Include a tilde ()

• Add three grave accents ("') in monospace.

7. Examine the readers of your group message.

Two blue checkmarks are displayed next to your message on WhatsApp to show that it has been read. The symbol, however, doesn't show up in a group conversation until everyone has read it. By doing the following, you may determine who has read and who hasn't:

• Tap the message and hold it.

• Select Wallpaper.

WhatsApp is a multi-platform service. You can type messages from your desktop computer using a web application.
