Android's lower navigation bar is finally being developed by WhatsApp.

Although there are many instant messaging services available, platforms like WhatsApp stick out in a sea of rivalry. On a regular basis, WhatsApp introduces new feature additions, some of which are intended to enhance the app's usefulness and others which are intended to improve its visual components. The most recent WhatsApp Beta for Android includes a minor but major UI change, according to WABetaInfo.

As part of version 2.23.8.4, the functionality is being released through the Google Play Beta Program. It now adheres to Google's design principles and has a redesigned bottom navigation bar. According to the screenshots provided by WABetaInfo, the lower bar has four options: Chats, Communities, Status, and Calls.

According to WABetaInfo, the redesigned bottom bar also resembles the one on WhatsApp for iOS, ensuring consistency for users who move from Android to iOS and vice versa.

We don't know when the stable version of the programme will get this new bottom navigation bar, but we'll keep an eye out for more details on it. The release date of the final version of WhatsApp for Android is not set in stone. But given how crucial it is for UI uniformity, we anticipate this redesign to appear over the coming weeks.

We have heard about a few new features for the messaging app owned by Meta just in the last week. A recent WhatsApp beta was found to have an Instagram-style text editor, and the company is working on a method to enable fingerprint authentication for chats, a significant new security feature that presumably should have been available already. Polls, which were added to WhatsApp in November, are one example of a function that is not flawless. Thankfully, a fix was introduced by an update last month, allowing users to select just one poll choice rather than all of them.
