Google Search is Getting ChatGPT Like AI Features Soon

Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, has stated that the internet giant intends to add conversational AI capabilities to its hugely successful search engine.

According to a Wall Street Journal interview, this approach aims to increase Google's ability to manage a variety of search queries with the use of AI developments. Pichai rejected the notion that chatbots may endanger Google's search business, which generates more than 50% of the parent company's revenue, despite the existence of chatbots like ChatGPT and other business-related difficulties.

Mr. Pichai claimed that the potential for growth is now even larger than it was earlier in an interview on Tuesday.Large language models (LLMs), which are computer programmes capable of understanding and responding to natural language questions in a human-like manner, have been pioneered by Google. The business hasn't yet used this technology to change how people use search engines, though. According to Mr. Pichai, this is going to change.

He also mentioned that people would be able to communicate with LLMs and Google while doing searches. The Google search engine will incorporate this feature.

In light of the fact that Microsoft has already integrated the technology underlying the ChatGPT system into its Bing search engine, Pichai is juggling one of the biggest threats to Google's core business in recent years as well as investor pressure to cut expenses.By reducing 12,000 employees, or 6% of its workforce, Alphabet announced its largest personnel decrease to date in January. In reaction to worries about inflation and the recession, other tech companies have also reduced their operations.

According to Mr. Pichai's most recent remarks, Google plans to make it possible for consumers to interact with its extensive language models directly through its search engine. The typical link-based experience, which has been the norm for more than 20 years, may be radically altered as a result.

Mr. Pichai claims that Google is testing a number of different search products, including variations that let users ask questions in response to their original queries. The business revealed plans to more significantly include LLMs into search last month, but up until this point, it had not made clear that it intended to offer conversational features.
